Full-Time Firefighter Positions

Flint Hill Fire Department is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for a full-time Firefighter I.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. 

FHFD staffs two stations 24/7/365 with 3-4 firefighter engine companies working 48-hour shifts. 

A ladder/service company is placed in service as staffing allows.  

The department currently employs 21 career firefighters and 11 part-time firefighters. 

We are an ISO Class 2 fire department that meets or exceeds the ISO training standards annually. We like to train! We are steadily improving our NFPA 1710 compliance.   

Our five-year plan includes adding 3 battalion chiefs, additional staffing of existing engine companies, a full-time ladder company, and opening a 3rd station.

Part-Time Firefighter Positions

There are currently no part-time firefighter openings. However, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and evaluated when openings become available.

We have 2 shifts daily: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM. Part-time employees can sign up for one or both shifts each day. The position requires a minimum FF I certification with FF II and EMT certifications preferred. An employment application can be found HERE.
